Meet your tour guide at Kusadasi port or your hotel, and begin your tour by visiting one of the main highlights in Ephesus, one of the 12 cities of the Ionian League, an ancient Greek district on the western coast of Asia Minor near Izmir. As a port city, it was a major departure point for trade routes into Asia Minor.
Walk through its history along marble streets lined with wonderful public buildings, among them The State Agora, Odeon, Memnius Monument, the Temple of Domitian, Polio Fountain, Curetes Street, The Trajan Fountain, The Baths of Scholastica, Hadrian Temple, Latrina, Celsus Library, and the Gate of Mithridates and Mazes. See Commercial Agora and the Grand Theater, two of the most impressive buildings in Ephesus. The Grand Theater was built in the 3rd century B.C. and was later expanded to hold 24,000 spectators by the Romans in the 1st century A.D.
Visit the Temple of Artemis or Artemision, also known less precisely as the Temple of Diana, a Greek temple dedicated to an ancient, local form of the goddess Artemis. After the tour, your guide will take you back to your Kusadasi town hotel or port.
