EXCURSION: Djerba Island Tour 1 DAY

For one day, you will be accompanied by a qualified and experienced guide to take a complete tour of the island of Djerba followed by a typical lunch in a Djerbian restaurant.
Departure from the hotel towards the Roman city Meninx, visit the ruins and photo stop at La Chaussé Romane, the road which connects the island to the continent.
Continuation to the Berber village of Guellala, visit an old pottery workshop then visit the museum of Djerbian arts and life.
Crossing Berber villages through the “tabias”, clay hedges to arrive at the “Ghriba”, the oldest Jewish synagogue in Africa, visit, and direction Houmet Souk, the capital of the island of Djerba.
Visit to the very colorful market with auction of fish, spices, vegetables, fruits, etc.
Visit the covered souk and appreciate the manual work of the artisans. Visit to a weaving workshop with demonstration over a glass of green tea offered free of charge by the workshop.
Typical lunch at the “Essofra” restaurant or similar (included in the price)
After lunch, visit the Marina. Continuation to the village of Mahboubine, visit of the Menzels and Djerbian style house, water tanks, wells and some gardens in the center of Djerba.

Return to the hotel.
