Morning: Your adventure begins early (around 6:30 AM) with a scenic drive from Moshi to Marangu Gate (1,800m/5,905ft), the official starting point of the Marangu Route. After completing registration formalities and receiving a briefing from your experienced guide, you'll be ready to embark on your ascent.

Mid-morning: The initial hike takes you through a lush rainforest teeming with vibrant flora and fauna. Keep your eyes peeled for colobus monkeys swinging through the trees, exotic birds flitting among the branches, and colorful wildflowers carpeting the forest floor. As you ascend, the air will gradually cool, and the diverse plant life will transition to a heath zone characterized by shrubs and small trees.
Lunchtime: Around midday, arrive at Mandara Hut (2,700m/8,860ft), your destination for the day. Enjoy a delicious and well-deserved lunch, refuel your energy, and soak in the panoramic views of the surrounding hills and valleys.

Afternoon: After lunch, you have the option to explore the surroundings or relax at the hut. Take a short hike to the nearby Maundi Crater for stunning views of the caldera and the distant Kenyan plains. Alternatively, unwind and admire the majestic peak of Kibo, the summit of Kilimanjaro, shrouded in mist and clouds.

Descent: As the afternoon wears on, begin your descent along the same route, retracing your steps through the rainforest and enjoying the changing perspectives of the landscape.
