Embark on a day trip to Ngorongoro Crater from Arusha or Karatu. Enjoy a game drive in the crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and see the "Big Five" and other wildlife. Stop for a picnic lunch in the crater.
Begin your day with a pick-up from your hotel in Arusha or Karatu. Travel to Ngorongoro Crater, a large volcanic caldera with a circumference of approximately 265 square kilometers and a depth of around 610 meters.
Meet your safari guide and embark on a game drive in the crater. Keep an eye out for the "Big Five" (lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, and rhinoceroses) as well as a wide range of other species including zebras, wildebeests, cheetahs, giraffes, and hyenas.
Stop for lunch at a designated picnic site within the crater. Savor a packed lunch of sandwiches, salads, fruits, and snacks, with mineral water provided to keep you refreshed.
After lunch, continue your game drive. Depending on the time of year, you might witness large herds of wildebeests or zebra migrating across the plains, or you could observe elephants bathing in the crater's freshwater lakes.
