Soweto and Apartheid Museum day Tour

The township of Soweto and the Apartheid museum is a must visit if travelers wants to experience and enjoy the history, culture, traditions and the Apartheid history of South Africa.

1. Mandela Museum at Soweto Township, Johannesburg

Mandela house is a world class museum which showcase the history of Nelson Mandela and his family. Visitors would experience how Nelson Mandela lived before he was arrested and sentenced to life imprisonment and after his released from Prison in 1990. The museum showcase how his wife Winnie Mandela survived at this during the Apartheid era while Mandela was in Prison.

2. Hector Peterson Museum and Memorial

The client would see the memorial that has been built to honor the pupils who has been killed by the Apartheid police during the 1976 Soweto uprising. The student uprising was against the Afrikaans language to be used as a medium of instructions in South African schools. The travelers would experience how the previously disadvantage South Africans lived and how they were treated during the Apartheid era. The museum showcase many protest videos and the lifestyle of Soweto residents during the Apartheid era.

3. Apartheid Museum in Johannesburg

The Museum showcase the Apartheid history of South Africa from 1948 to 1994. The museum has been built to honor Nelson Mandela for his efforts to achieve non-racial and non violent society in South Africa. The travelers would be able to experience how the citizens of South Africa were racial segregated during the difficult times of Apartheid.

4. Sightseeing around the famous Township of Soweto

Driving through the township with lots of sightseeing and photo stops on some of the Soweto's famous attractions like Orlando towers (old coal power station), Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital, (biggest hospital in south Africa), soccer city stadium, (biggest football stadium in south Africa) and
driving through one of the richest township in Soweto.
