Embark on a full-day tour from Colombo to Dambulla. Explore the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka, discover the magnificent Buddha images and rock paintings of vivid colors and different shapes, and climb Pidurangala Rock for panoramic views of the area.
After pickup from your hotel in Colombo, drive for around 3 hours to Dambulla. Arrive at around 9:00 AM and have breakfast on your own. After breakfast, drive for around 20 minutes to Dambulla to explore the cave temple complex.
Discover the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. Admire the magnificent Buddha images and rock paintings of vivid colors and different shapes, painted from around the 2nd century B.C. up to the 18th-century Kandyan era.
Then, head to Pidurangala Rock and start the adventure of rock climbing. Make sure to wear the perfect suitable shoes and comfortable clothes. Climb to the top of the rock, which takes around 1 hour. Once you reach the top, enjoy stunning far areal views and be amazed by the Sigiriya Lion Rock Fortress.
After that, slowly reach down and have a Sri Lankan lunch at a local restaurant. At the end of the tour, choose an optional tour or be dropped back at your hotel.
