Explore collections that provide a great overview of Picasso’s art at Museo Picasso Málaga. Admire 141 works by the creator of Cubism as well as exciting exhibitions.
The Museo Picasso Málaga was created in response to the artist's desire for his work to be exhibited in the city of his birth in 1881. Its realization is thanks to the combined efforts of the artist´s daughter-in-law and grandson, whose donations provide the body of the art collection, and Junta de Andalucía, who arranged an ambitious project devoted to the artist.
Located in the Palacio de Buenavista, declared a National Monument in 1939, the Museo Picasso Málaga opened in the heart of Málaga in 2003. The building boasts a harmonic mix of Renaissance and Mudéjar elements and serene contemporary lines. Phoenician, Roman, and Arabic ruins can be found on the underground floor.
This ticket provides access to the permanent collection containing examples of Picasso's revolutionary innovations. See paintings, drawings, sculptures, ceramics, and graphic work, from his first academic studies to his personal Neoclassical perspective.
Until September 29 you can also enjoy the exhibition 'María Blanchard. A Painter in Spite of Cubism'. A female-artist unfairly forgotten within her generation whose figure and oeuvre are vindicated today: heterodox, symbolic, committed and innovative.
And also Joel Meyerowitz's 'Europe 1966-1967': one of the greatest and state-of-the-art photographers from the 60's who presents his pictures series from June 15 onwards. The new exhibition of the New Yorker artist will hang on the Museum’s walls until the end of the year.
Admire Picasso's overlapping Cubist forms, his experiments in ceramics, his interpretations of the Old Masters, and his last paintings from the 1970s. Break for a snack in the garden Café of the Palacio de Buenavista, a perfect place to end your visit with an appetizer, lunch, or a drink.

Please note that if you buy a reduced of free ticket, you must show identification at the Ticket Office.
Your time slot for access to the museum includes a 15-minute margin.
The archaeological site can be entered with any museum entry ticket.
Cloakroom service available. Only suitcases and backpacks with a maximum of 55 x 35 x 20 cm are allowed. Objects deposited in the locker must be picked up on the same day.
Scooters, tricycles, and bicycles are not accepted.
Umbrellas and other potentially dangerous objects must be deposited in the cloakroom.
Drinks and food must remain inside the bag.
On Sundays, entrance is free 2 hours before closing time.
Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.
The audio guide for the exhibitions is only available in English and Spanish.
Equipment is available for people who are blind or visually impaired (audio-written guides) in Spanish and with sign language in Spanish for the 'Pablo Picasso: Structures of Invention. The Unity of a Life's Work'.
