See the Independence Square where slaves were sold and Basseterre's churches.
On leaving the city, stop at Romney Manor, formerly owned by Captain Samuel Jefferson, great-great-grandfather of Thomas Jefferson. Romney Manor is 25 acres of lush, tropical gardens, now home to the Caribelle Batik workshop and boutique.
Next, enjoy the stunning views of mountains, valleys, and neighboring islands at the Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, 800 feet above sea level.
