Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Adventure

Early Morning:

Option 1: If you stayed in Musanze, you’ll have a short drive to the park headquarters.

Option 2: If you stayed in Kigali, depart early in the morning for the 2-hour drive to Volcanoes National Park.


Gorilla Trekking:

After a briefing by park rangers, embark on your gorilla trekking adventure through the lush, misty forests of the Virunga volcanoes. Trek through the jungle, guided by experienced trackers, as you search for a gorilla family.

Spend an awe-inspiring hour observing the gorillas in their natural habitat. Watch them interact, play, and go about their daily lives. This close encounter with the gentle giants is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

In some groups, you may encounter more than one silverback. These are dominant males who lead the group or have chosen to stay within the group under the leadership of the dominant silverback.

Afternoon:

After the trek, enjoy a leisurely lunch at a local restaurant.
Depending on your preference, you can explore the Musanze area further or start your journey back to Kigali.

Evening:

Return to Kigali and end your 2-day adventure with memories of an unforgettable experience with Rwanda’s mountain gorillas and a deeper appreciation of its culture and history.
