Starting from Porto, in Trindade, right in the centre of Porto, the tour begins in an air-conditioned van, with a limit of up to 8 people, to discover the Douro Valley where you can get to know this landscape, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and appreciated by tourists from all over the world. You can also choose the option of pick up and drop off at your hotel for an extra fee.
During the journey, your guide will tell you about the history of the Douro wine region and describe the activities we have prepared for you to make this day unforgettable.
Arriving in the Alto Douro, you'll stop at a viewpoint to enjoy the view of the vineyard terraces on the banks of the River Douro and take photographs.
Visit two different wineries with tastings of table wine and Port, olive oil, honey and local bread.
On one of the vineyards you'll enjoy a delicious traditional lunch accompanied by plenty of local wine.
After visiting the vineyards you'll head to Pinhão where you'll board a Rabelo boat for a cruise along the Douro River where you'll enjoy a landscape that's green in summer and brown in autumn.
The Douro River is one of Portugal's largest and most beautiful rivers, a true work of natural art. A winding river that has carved deep valleys into the earth, giving rise to banks to the south and north. The valleys, which were previously made of schist, were transformed by local labourers into land and terraces were created by planting vines on them. With the wisdom of generations, they tilted the terraces so that the sun's rays could give full warmth to the grapes that make this place the Alto Douro Vinhateiro, the oldest wine-growing region in the world.
