Take a stroll through the commercial and political center of 18th and 19th century Lisbon. It was in this direction that the city expanded from the hill of the Castle. Get to know the downtown area Baixa Pombalina accurately rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake, which had its epicenter in the Arch of Rua Augusta and kept Carmo on its feet, despite the catastrophe. Have a close look at the wonders of the Portuguese baroque in the Church of São Roque and move up into the 19th century in Chiado.
