As a former capital city of Poland and residence of the Polish monarchy, Krakow is full of historical and cultural heritage. Join this tour to discover outstanding monuments and lesser known spots in the historic Old Town and hear incredible history facts and legends of Poland. Make unforgettable memories in Krakow!

The 2-hour walking tour will start at the historic Krakow Barbican, a late 15th century fortified gateway, which once linked to the inner city walls. From here, you will stroll along the Florianska street to the Main Market Square while listening to the fascinating stories about the monarchs who used this so-called Royal Route when returning to the city after victorious battles. In the beating heart of the Old Town, you will marvel at the towering St Mary’s Basilica, the old Town Hall Tower, and the medieval commerce center of the iconic Renaissance Cloth Hall (Sukiennice).

Follow your Private Guide through the historic streets, lined with old churches, palaces and tenement houses, and you will quickly understand why Krakow Old Town became one of the first UNESCO World Heritage sites. See the ornate Baroque-style Saints Peter and Paul Church, Holy Trinity Church and St Andrew’s Church. This tour will end at the bottom of Wawel Hill, and the guide will give you some tips on the best local restaurants, bars and leisure spots so that you can enjoy the rest of your stay in Krakow.

Choose the 3-hour option to learn even more about Krakow and explore the outer courtyard of the Wawel Royal Castle. Follow your Private Guide up the Wawel Hill to see the Wawel Cathedral and admire the Romanesque and Gothic exterior architecture of the monumental castle complex. As a former royal residence, this place is of special historical and political importance to Poles. Hear the legend of the Wawel Dragon and enjoy amazing views of Vistula River from the terrace.

Pick the 4-hour tour to enrich your experience with a visit to the Wawel Cathedral. This 13th century church is a true mecca of Polish history and culture, deeply connected with the history of the Polish monarchs, especially the Jagiellonian Dynasty. Inside, you will discover a beautiful interior featuring an ornate altar, medieval religious paintings and sculptures, and royal tombs. Marvel at the famous golden-domed Sigismund’s Chapel, walk up the Sigismund Bell Tower, and see royal artefacts at the Cathedral Museum.

The 6-hour option gives you a full experience of Krakow Old Town with a visit to St Mary’s Basilica (Kościół Mariacki), famous for its extraordinary wooden altarpiece carved by Veit Stoss (Wit Stwosz) and hourly trumpet calls from the Gothic watchtower. In addition, you will explore Jewish heritage sites in the former Jewish Quarter, Kazimierz, and learn about the turbulent World War II history of Poland. See the historic Old Synagogue and Remuh Synagogue, and visit the 19th century Tempel Synagogue, an active place of worship known for its beautiful Moorish Revival interior.
