Día 1: CUSCO - BOSQUE DE NUBES - HARPY LODGE
Leaving early from Cusco in a comfortable bus, we head towards the high mountain area of Paucartambo. On the way, we visit the impressive funeral towers of Ninamarca. We then descend through the mysterious cloud forest, home to beautiful orchids, heliconias and primitive ferns. Here you will have the opportunity to witness the mating ritual of the Cock of the Rock, as well as spot the Amazonian umbrella bird, trogons and possibly the Spectacled Bear, the only South American bear.
In the afternoon, we arrive at the village of Atalaya and embark on a 30-minute boat ride up the Alto Madre de Dios River to our typical lodge. Showers and restrooms are provided for refreshment and rest.
Día 2: HARPY LODGE
After a delicious breakfast in the morning the group is organized to walk to our lookout point to observe the villages around the river and walk into the jungle around the lodge where you can see many species of birds, insects and many other small animals. Shared showers and toilets.
Día 3: HARPY LODGE - COLLPA DE LOROS - LAGO MACHUHUASI
Early in the morning, we head by boat for about 25 minutes to the parrot clay lick, where we will observe green parrots and other small birds. After this experience, we return to Machuhuasi Lake to paddle in balsa rafts and explore the lake for two hours, spotting birds such as the hoatzin. Afterwards, we continue with a one-hour hike through the jungle. Overnight at the lodge, where showers and shared bathrooms are available.
Día 4: HARPY LODGE - ATALAYA - CUSCO
After a delicious breakfast unfortunately we will come back by boat to the port Atalaya after that we will take the bus to return until Cusco . Transfer to the hotel.
