This tour will take you to explore the Sandoval Lake in the Tambopata National Reserve, an ecosystem full of wildlife.
We start at 7:00 a.m. with a delicious breakfast, and then head to the port of the Captaincy, where we board a boat that will take us down the Madre de Dios and Tambopata rivers. After an hour of navigation, we arrive at the Tambopata National Reserve, where we check in at the checkpoint before walking for about an hour to a channel that connects to Lake Sandoval.
There, we will board a paddle canoe to explore the lake, an ecosystem full of life. We will see colorful birds, monkeys in their natural habitat and, if we are lucky, giant otters, an endangered species. It is also possible to see black caimans, which inhabit the area, although they are more active at night.
After the exploration, we will head to a local community, where we will enjoy a typical lunch accompanied by a traditional refreshment. After resting, we will return to the lake to enjoy a refreshing swim in a safe place.
Finally, we will continue our tour around the lake, admiring the surrounding fauna and landscape, and return to the starting point around 6:00 p.m., depending on the conditions of the trip.
