Day 1:
Be picked up from the meeting point and transfer to the port to board a boat for a 1-hour ride to your lodge. Enjoy a welcome meeting with a refreshing fruit juice. Check in to your room and have lunch.
Visit Monkey Island, located across the Madre de Dios River from your lodge. See different species of monkeys, including capuchins. Return to the lodge and have dinner.
In the evening, go in search of white caimans that are usually found on the banks of the Madre de Dios River. Use a flashlight to spot capybaras, the world's largest rodent, and return to the lodge for dinner and rest.
Day 2:
After breakfast, walk 3 kilometers through the dense rainforest to Lake Sandoval, home to piranhas. Take a rowboat ride to see a variety of birds and monkeys, including shansho, cormorants, jacanas, herons, pumas, vultures, cotomono, friar monkeys, black machin, pichicos, and sloths.
Perhaps have an encounter with a family of giant otters, which are almost 2 meters long and are endangered, and the largest caimans recorded, which are over 4 meters long. Return to the lodge for lunch.
In the evening, go on a walk to see the diversity of insect, amphibian, reptile, and other nocturnal animals. Have dinner and rest.
Day 3:
At 5:30 AM, take a short walk on the Canopy Walk-Way, which is over 30 meters high and offers panoramic views of the Madre de Dios River. From the platforms, see different species of birds such as toucans, macaws, tanagers, and orioles.
Have breakfast and return to Puerto Maldonado.
