Takes you to the heart of the ancient Inca Empire, where you will visit the Cathedral, Qorikancha, and the incredible archaeological parks of Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Pukapukara, and Tambomachay.
At 01:00 PM, we'll pick you up from Cusco's magnificent Plaza de Armas. We'll visit the Cusco Cathedral, a masterpiece of baroque architecture built with stones brought from the nearby Inca fortress of Saqsayhuaman. Inside, you'll find a treasure trove of art.
After a 5-minute walk, we will visit Qorikancha, the Golden Temple, now known as the Dominican Temple. This site features an Inca wall at its base, fine and beautiful architecture, and a rich history full of legends.
From Qorikancha, the group will take a 25-minute bus ride to Saqsayhuaman, the head of the puma-shaped city of Cusco. Saqsayhuaman is one of the most impressive Inca sites, with massive stones in its zigzag walls, including one that weighs 128 tons.
From Saqsayhuaman, take a short bus ride to Qenqo, a religious Inca center dedicated to honoring and worshiping Mother Earth. At Qenqo, you can see fascinating Inca altars, including some of the most impressive carved rocks in the Cusco area.
After a 10-minute drive, you will arrive at Puka Pukara (the red palace), a small circular Inca military control site. Finally, you will visit Tambomachay (Water Temple), a center of water worship with impressive fountains and aqueducts. The tour will end at approximately 6:00 PM in the main square of Cusco.
