On this excursion you will enter the Sacred Valley to visit two curious places of the Inca civilization: the salt mines of Maras and the circular terraces of Moray. Let's explore!
Itinerary
We will pick you up at the hotel at 8:30 a.m. and leave Cusco behind to enter the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Are you ready to discover its most special corners?
The first stop will be Maras, a picturesque village surrounded by beautiful landscapes and that gives its name to the salt mines that surround it. We will go to a viewpoint to contemplate these impressive salt quarries and discover their history for an hour. They date back to Inca times and have transformed the physiognomy of the local landscape!
After the experience, we will head to the archaeological site of Moray. At an altitude of 3,500 meters, we will find its emblematic amphitheater of circular platforms. Do you know what function the Inca civilization gave it? For an hour, we will walk through what was their experimental agricultural center.
Finally, we will make our way back to Cusco. At 2:30 p.m. we will leave you near the central Plaza de Armas to finish the excursion.
