5 Days of Trekking in Salkantay and Machu Picchu.

Explore the lost city of Machu Picchu on a 5-day Salkantay trek. Enjoy a guided tour of Humantay Lagoon, hike Andean glaciers, discover the jungle, and encounter local wildlife.
(Please note that this excursion must be booked 1 month in advance or you must check the availability of entrance tickets to Machu Picchu for the desired date, this way you will avoid inconveniences).

Day 1: Cusco -> Mollepata -> Soraypampa -> Humantay Lake -> Salkantaipampa
- We will leave Cusco and go to Markhuq'asa to begin the walk to Soraypampa, at 3,850 meters above sea level.
- We will stop for lunch and then we will head to the Humantay lagoon. Then we will visit the Salkantaypampa base camp overnight.

Day 2: Salkantaypampa - Salkantay Pass - Collpapampa
Includes: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
- We will walk to the highest point of the Salkantay Pass to enjoy the impressive views of the snow-capped mountains, and 2 hours later we will arrive at the camp for lunch.
- Next we will explore the Amazon jungle through the cloud forest. We will look for local fauna on the way to the town of Collpapampa, where we will spend the night.
Day 3: Collpapampa - the Beach
- After breakfast, easily head to the beach through the Santa Teresa and Maciene valley, with waterfalls and wild orchids.
- You will find a coffee, banana and avocado plantation, and you will have the opportunity to taste local coffee at organic coffee farms.
- After a typical lunch at La Playa, you have the option (for an additional charge on site) to visit the hot springs and abundant birdlife. Return to camp for the night.

Day 4: Santa Teresa - Hydro - Aguascalientes
In Santa Teresa, for an additional fee to be paid directly on site, you will have the option of ziplining, rafting or canopy.
Afterwards you will head to Hidroeléctrica, passing glacial waterfalls and cocoa and coffee fields.
We will have a nutritious lunch and to digest better we will do the 2-hour walk to Machu Picchu Pueblo (also known as Aguascalientes).
Upon arriving in Aguascalientes, you will go to your hotel to shower and rest before dinner.
After dinner, you can take a short break and head to Machu Picchu first thing the next morning.
Day 5: Machu Picchu (breakfast)
We will explore Machu Picchu early in the morning, before the crowds arrive. You can choose to walk up the hill to the ruins or take a bus for an additional fee.
Enjoy a 2-hour guided tour upon arrival to learn more about the temples, palaces, vicarages and much more. In the afternoon, you will take a train to Ollantaytambo and then a bus back to Cusco, to arrive at your hotel or hostel.
