Tour to the Funerary Structures of Sillustani

During this tour to the Chullpas of Sillustani, you will have the opportunity to explore the burial sites of the Kolla and Inca cultures, admire the Umayo lagoon.
Our tour starts with a hotel pick-up at 14:00 h. Then, we will embark on a journey of approximately 40 minutes that includes a viewpoint from where you can enjoy panoramic views of the city of Puno.

Upon arrival in Sillustani, we will take a 1 hour and 30 minute walk through the archaeological complex. During the walk, you will be able to observe the Waruwaru, artificial earth mounds designed to protect crops from frost and floods. Also, if you are lucky, you may spot wild Indian pigs, various birds such as flamingos and other animals of the high Andes.

At the end of our visit, we will admire the beauty of Lake Umayo, located in front of the archaeological site. On the way back, we will stop at a local house where you can experience the lifestyle of the area, taste typical food and take pictures with the llamas and alpacas of the local families. We will be back in Puno at approximately 18:00.
