Embark on an extraordinary Arctic adventure with our exclusive Northern Lights tour, a small group excursion designed for a maximum of 6 participants. The journey commences at 7:00 p.m./19:00 from Kaigata 4 on Tromsø's island, right by the iconic Magic Ice bar. The tour is guided by Norwegian local guides with experience in Arctic conditions.
As we navigate the months with dark evenings from September to April, our primary goal is to chase clear skies, maximizing our chances of witnessing the enchanting Northern Lights. The excursion spans 5-6 hours and takes us in various directions away from the city lights, allowing us to explore the most promising vantage points for this awe-inspiring natural spectacle.
The Arctic weather adds an element of unpredictability to our journey. Some nights, the lights gracefully dance directly above us, creating a surreal atmosphere. Other nights, we embark on a true "hunt," possibly reaching the Finnish border, a 2-3 hour drive from Tromsø. While sightings are frequent, there are no guarantees, making each excursion a unique and thrilling experience.
The elements of the Arctic are an integral part of our adventure. On not-too-cold evenings, you might feel inclined to take a refreshing dip in the Barents Sea. Don't forget to bring a towel for a well-deserved diploma after the plunge!

Our small group size allows for flexibility and personalized attention. Throughout the evening, we make several stops to observe the lights, with longer breaks featuring a bonfire, a pre-prepared meal consisting of a small portion of soup/stew, and hot drinks - all subject to weather and light conditions.

This dark season/winter activity can get a bit "nippy" on some days. That said the climate in the Tromso area usually doesn´t get too cold - Tromsø averages about -5 degrees Celsius during winter. We could however end up in an area with colder temperatures for a while where the temperature goes down to -25 degrees Celsius. Bring proper winter clothing including mittens, a hat, and warm outer clothing.
