Discover the Remutaka Range's rich rail history and natural beauty on this eBike (electric bike) cycle tour from Wellington. Cycle through tunnels and across bridges with fantastic mountain views.

Ride through the Remutaka Mountains and discover the history of the railway on this eBike (electric bike) cycle tour from Wellington.
We'll pick you up from either Wellington Port (cruise ship guests only, at 9.15am) or Wellington Train Station (main entrance) at 9.30am. We'll shuttle you up to start from either Kaitoke for an easier ride (18-28 km) or to Maymorn for a more challenging tour (25-35 km).
Ride up a gradual incline and admire the natural scenery. Turn on the provided headlights and pass through the rail tunnels and across bridges.
Stop at the information boards to learn about the rich history of railway construction in the area. Enjoy a picnic or cold drink at the summit.
Feel the wind in your hair on your controlled descent down the mountain and take in views of the scenic farmland around Cross Creek. Take a shuttle back to Wellington from Cross Creek or catch it 10 km down the road at Featherston for a longer ride. You'll arrive back at Wellington Station at approx. 3.30-3.45pm, or Wellington Port (cruise ship guests only) at 3.45-4.00pm.
Please note: if you are on a cruise ship, we pick you up direct from the Port at 9.15am. We cannot wait for late arrivals - make sure you are there on time otherwise the shuttle will leave without you! We arrive back at Port between 3.45pm - 4pm. Please check that your sailing times allow for these timings, we will not be held responsible if you miss your boat!

We have two pick up locations:
9.15 Wellington Port (for cruise ship guests only). Please don't get on a cruise shuttle, we'll come direct to you at the Port
9.30 Wellington Station (all other guests). We'll pick you up outside the main entrance to the station.
Look out for a white Wildfinder van with a bike trailer - you can't miss us!
