The Mardi Himal Trek is a relatively short and less-trodden trekking route in the Annapurna region of Nepal. Offering stunning views of the Annapurna and Machapuchare (Fishtail) mountain ranges, this trek takes you through lush forests, charming villages, and alpine meadows. The highlight of the trek is reaching the Mardi Himal Base Camp, which sits at an elevation of around 4,500 meters (14,764 feet), providing breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding peaks.


ITINERARY

Day 1: Drive to Dhampus and Trek to Forest Camp
Your adventure begins with a scenic drive from Pokhara to Dhampus, a beautiful mountain village situated on the outskirts of the Annapurna Conservation Area. From Dhampus, you’ll start your trek towards Forest Camp. The trail winds through lush rhododendron forests, offering glimpses of the surrounding mountains along the way. After a few hours of hiking, you’ll reach Forest Camp, where you’ll spend the night amidst the tranquil surroundings of the forest.

The total distance from Dhampus to Forest Camp is 12 kilometers (7.46 miles). Regarding walking duration, it takes approximately 6 to 7 hours to walk.

Day 2: Forest Camp to High Camp
On the second day of 2 nights 3 Days Mardi trek, you’ll continue your journey towards High Camp. The trail gradually ascends, and as you gain elevation, the landscape begins to change, with alpine meadows replacing the dense forests. Along the way, you’ll be treated to breathtaking views of the Annapurna range and the valleys below. After a few hours of hiking, you’ll arrive at High Camp, where you’ll spend the night. Take some time to acclimatize to the altitude and enjoy the stunning sunset over the mountains.

The total distance from Forest Camp to High Camp is 8.5 kilometers (5.3 miles), it takes approximately 5 to 6 hours to walk.

Day 3: Hike to Mardi Himal View Point (4200m), trek to Siding Village and drive to Pokhara
The highlight of the trek comes on the third day when you’ll embark on a hike to the Mardi Himal View Point, situated at an altitude of 4200 meters. The trail to the viewpoint is steep and challenging, but the panoramic views of the surrounding mountains make it all worth it. From the viewpoint, you’ll be treated to unparalleled vistas of the Annapurna range, including towering peaks like Machhapuchhre and Annapurna South.

After soaking in the majestic scenery, you’ll begin your descent towards Siding Village. Upon reaching Siding Village, you’ll bid farewell to the mountains and hop on a vehicle for the drive back to Pokhara, where you can relax and reminisce about your unforgettable trekking experience.

The total distance from High Camp to Siding Via Mardi Himal View Point is approximately 14 kilometers (8.6 miles), it takes approximately 9 to 10 hours to walk.
