The Tsumbas, the people of Tsum Valley, have a rich heritage rooted in Tibetan culture, with their own unique dialect, art, culture, and religion. Until 2008, Tsum Valley was a restricted area, but it still remains relatively undiscovered compared to other popular tourist destinations. The paths in this region are less traveled, offering a more pristine and untouched experience. The Tsum people have a fascinating way of life that may surprise outsiders.

The trek begins and ends in Arughat, which is a seven-hour drive from Kathmandu. The first half of the trek takes us through the Budhi Gandaki Valley, where we traverse through dense forests, terraced fields, and charming hill villages. As we veer off the main Manaslu Trail towards the Tsum Valley, we are greeted with a sense of entering a hidden paradise. Along the way, we pass through the lower Buri Gandaki regions, including Liding, Machhakhola, Jagat, and Philim. Additionally, we have the opportunity to visit ancient Gombas such as Rachen Gompa, Mu Gompa, and Dephyudonma Gompa.
