The two most well-known features of Nepal are Mount Everest, the world's tallest peak, and Gautama Buddha, the man who attained enlightenment and became referred to as the Light of Asia. As a result, Buddha Jayanti is a significant holiday that is equally observed in Nepal by followers of various religions as well as Buddhists.
Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha is, of course, the best place to visit during this festival. The place is crowded with devotees and tourists during this time.
