From Tribhuvan: Manaslu Circuit 14-Day Guided Hiking TourBest Tea House Trek in Nepal: The Manaslu Circuit

Set off along one of Nepal's more remote treks with this 14-day hike of the Manaslu Circuit from Kathmandu's Tribhuvan Airport. Take in the stunning scenery and learn about the local Gurung people.
Trek around Manaslu, the world’s eighth-highest mountain, on this 14-day trip from Kathmandu. Enjoy a much less crowded trek than you would in some of Nepal’s more well-known areas, and admire the region’s biological and cultural diversity.

Begin the tour with pickup at Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan Airport and spend the night in a 3-star hotel in Kathmandu. On Day 2, go sightseeing in Kathmandu or simply prepare yourself for the long trek ahead in the following days.

Spend Day 3 driving to Machhakhola from Kathmandu. On the first trekking days, follow Budi Gandaki, a deep, long river gorge with lots of suspension bridges. During the multi-day hike, make your way through subtropical jungle at lower elevations to colder conditions as you ascend.

On Day 4, trek for around 5-6 hours to Jagat Village, and spend the same time trekking to Deng on Day 4. Day 6 involves a 6-hour trek to Namrung Village, while Day 7 is another 5-6-hour trek to Lho Village. Take in the beautiful scenery around you each day as you hike between these remote villages.

Day 8 is when you’ll start to hit altitudes above 3,000 meters. Hike up to Samagaun for 4-5 hours, then spend Day 9 acclimatizing to the altitude. As you go higher, experience the culture of the Gurung people living on the lap of the Himalayas and see high-altitude glacier lakes.

Take a 3-4-hour hike to Samdo on Day 10 before trekking to Dharmasala for 4-5 hours on Day 11. Prepare for the most dramatic day of all on Day 12: the trek to the Larkya Pass and Bhimtang. At 5,213 meters above sea level, the Laryka Pass is one of the most challenging crossings in the Himalayas.

Head down to Dharapani on the final trekking day. On Day 14, drive from Besisahar to Kathmandu, where you’ll stay overnight to end the tour. On the final day, you’ll be taken to the airport for your return flight.
