Ligatne is also proud of the historical Ligatne paper mill, which was built in 1815 by two enterprising men. In the middle of the XIX century it was the main manufacturer of quality writing paper throughout the Russian Empire. At present, the ancient paper mill entrusts its memory stories only to tourists.
