Embark on a full-day private hiking tour to Ol Donyo Sapuk from Nairobi. Discover the mountain's rich history and enjoy a 5-hour hike to the summit. Admire the views of Mount Kenya and the city of Nairobi from the top.
Start your adventure with a pickup from your hotel in Nairobi. Travel to the base of Ol Donyo Sapuk, a journey that takes around 1.5 hours. After clearing the park gate and receiving a briefing from your guide, begin your 5-hour hike to the summit.
As you hike, take in the views of the surrounding montane forest. Keep an eye out for the 45 species of birds that call the park home, including the white-browed sparrow weaver, grey-headed sparrow weaver, African pied wagtail, mourning dove, augur buzzard, African hawk eagle, and purple-breasted sunbird.
The park is also home to buffalo, bushbucks, leopards, olive baboons, aardvarks, porcupines, mongoose, pythons, and monitor lizards. Near the peak, visit the grave of Lord Macmillan, his wife, and their dog. There is also an extra grave of one Louise, who worked for the Macmillans from the age of 13 until her death.
Reach the summit of the mountain and enjoy panoramic views of Mount Kenya and the city of Nairobi. After taking in the views, begin your descent and exit the park. Stop for lunch at Ol Donyo Sapuk Resort before returning to Nairobi.
