Get picked up and enjoy a scenic drive through the lower slopes of the Apennines, east of Naples. Your first stop will be the tiny commune of Montemiletto, which takes its name from latin "Mons Militum".
It’s the grapes you have come to investigate, however, at Donna Elvira winery, widely regarded as one of Italy’s most innovative wine estates. After a tour of the bucolic vineyards and cellars, taste 3 different wines produced on the estate.
Break for lunch at a local restaurant or agriturismo, then continue your wine tour at Montemarano, one of the best centers of production of Aglianico red grape. Walk through vineyards to feel the grapes, and smell the scents of wine that's not yet ready to taste.
Then, sample 3 examples of the estate’s wines, including the notable Taurasi, the red wine from Campania granted the highest "DOCG" mark of quality.
