1. Ramayana Ballet tells the epic story of Ramayana, a classic legend from India portrayed through dance, music, and graceful movements. Often performed at the open-air theater of Prambanan, with the majestic backdrop of Prambanan Temple in Yogyakarta, the ballet includes heroic battles, deep love between Rama and Sita, and struggles against evil and injustice. It captivates not only visually but also conveys profound moral messages and cultural values.
2. Roro Jonggrang Ballet tells the legendary Indonesian tale of Princess Roro Jonggrang, who requests Bandung Bondowoso to build 1,000 temples overnight as a condition for marriage. With the help of supernatural beings, Bandung nearly completes the task, but Roro Jonggrang deceives him to ensure his failure. Enraged, Bandung curses her to become the final statue in the unfinished temples.
Ramayana Ballet performs every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Shows start at 19.30-21.30 pm, set against the majestic backdrop of Prambanan Temple at an open-air stage. While Roro Jonggrang Ballet is scheduled for Fridays will be start at 19.30 -20.30 pm in Trimurti Teather Stage (indoor). Don't miss this unforgettable cultural experience!
