In the morning, you shall be picked up from your respective hotel and driven to Agra to visit the world-famous Taj Mahal, situated on the banks of the river Yamuna.
Perhaps no other symbol epitomizes India as well as this incredible monument. Learn about how the Taj Mahal is also an epitome of love, due to the poem that’s written in marble by the Mughal Emperor Shahjehan for his beloved queen Mumtaz Mahal.
The Taj Mahal is made of entirely white marble and its walls are decorated with exquisite pietra dura (stone inlay) work and many other rare and precious stones were used in the intricate inlay work of its interiors.
Later on, you’ll make your way to the Agra Fort. This was the seat and the stronghold of the Mughal Empire under successive generations.
Visit its Hall of Public Audience and its Royal Pavilions.
Continue to drive to Fatehpur Sikri which was the capital city of Akbar but later abandoned due to scarcity of water.
This complex in red sandstone is considered to be more beautiful than the Taj Mahal by many visitors. You will then be driven back to your hotel in Delhi.
