Day 1: Arrival
Upon landing in Iceland, collect your rental car at the airport. Drive from the airport to your accommodation in Reykjavík

Day 2: Explore South Iceland
Travel from Reykjavík to Kirkjubæjarklaustur and take in some of Iceland's most breathtaking landscapes along the southern coast.

Visit the celebrated waterfalls Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss, with the chance to walk behind Seljalandsfoss. Continue to Vík í Mýrdal, known for its stunning black sand beaches like Reynisfjara and the basalt sea stacks of Reynisdrangar.

Explore Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon, carved by glacial meltwater, with steep walls and a winding riverbed. Kirkjubæjarklaustur, a village rich in natural beauty and history, serves as an ideal base for exploring the area.

Day 3: Skaftafell & Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon
Start at Skaftafell in Vatnajökull National Park, a haven for nature lovers. Hike to Svartifoss, surrounded by dark basalt columns. Enjoy trails leading to glacier tongues and panoramic views.

Next, visit Jökulsárlón, a stunning glacier lagoon filled with floating icebergs. Nearby, Diamond Beach features ice chunks on black sand, sparkling like jewels. Return west to Vík í Mýrdal. If time permits, continue exploring the area around Vík, adding anything missed the previous day.

Day 4: Golden Circle
Today, head northwest to Gullfoss, one of Iceland's most magnificent waterfalls that cascades in two stages into a deep gorge, offering stunning views from various viewpoints. A short drive away is the Geysir geothermal area, where you can witness Strokkur geyser erupting every few minutes, shooting boiling water up to 30 meters high.

Next, drive west to Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its historical, cultural, and geological significance. Þingvellir is home to the world’s oldest legislative parliament (Alþingi), established in 930 AD, and lies atop the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. After exploring the Golden Circle, return to Reykjavík.

Day 5: Departure
Depart from your lodging in Reykjavík and make your way to Keflavík International Airport. Returning your rental car at Keflavík Airport marks the completion of your Icelandic adventure.
