At Parc de la Mar, under the cathedral, the walking tour begins with a close look at the founding of the city and the changes in the political situation. Make your way to the fishing harbor, past the maritime trade exchange to the Consulado del Mar, a historic building whose use has changed over the years and is today the most important political building of the Balearic islands. Go through the old fishing district to the old fortress complex Es Baluard, home to an incredible view over the city and harbor.
Further on, pass the Museu d'Art Modern i Contemporani and arrive at the maze of streets in the old city. Discover the romantic Paseo del Borne and see the former houses of the aristocracy, today 5-star hotels. Continue into the upper city and discover the historical town hall, the parliament and the Almudaina Palace, and enjoy the impressive view of the cathedral with its rich history.
