This trip is highly recommended for anyone who wants to experience real Greece and truly authentic hospitality. The islands of Greece’s Peloponnese region unveil themselves to you throughout this 3-day tour, which is completely private and limited to your group.
On day one this tour weaves through multiple key landmarks from the Corinth Canal to the Epidaurus theatre with the best acoustics in the world, to King Agamemnon’s Mycenae site to the Venetian “old town” of Nafplio to Palamadi Fortress, where you will walk down all 999 steps before a breathtaking vista of the peninsula. In Nafplio you will have authentic Greek lunch, drinks, and dessert (all our treats) with the help of your tour leader. Overnight in a beautiful guesthouse in Ermioni village with both sea and Hydra island views. On day two you will visit Hydra Island where your tour leader will take you on a guided tour around the island explaining the history but also many information about the island. After your tour, you will have time to self-explore the island and have lunch (your guide can make some recommendations for restaurants and taverns so that you avoid the touristy ones). In the evening you will visit a local farm in Ermioni with a variety of trees such as (pomegranate, olive, apricot, fig, orange, lemon, and mandarin). You will have the chance to taste some fresh fruits depending on the season of the year and some truly pure olive oil! On the last day, you will visit Spetses Island for a guided tour from your guide. After you have a coffee in Spetses you will head towards Franchthi Cave an archaeological site that was occupied by the first humans during the Upper Paleolithic Age.
The guest house we will be staying at (for the two nights), is a small family-operated business offering a warm hospitality feeling. Expect many different treats from the owners! Dinner and Lunch on days 2 and 3 include true traditional home-cooked Greek food.
