Ancient Olympia : Full Day Tour from Patras

Departing from Patras with your private driver, you will travel through the rich countryside, on your way to Olympia, you will embark a 8-hour tour. Visit the Arch. site -museum - honey farm - winery
At ancient Olympia you will visit the temple of Zeus, the temple of Hera, the altar of Hera where the lighting of the Olympic torch takes place and the stadium, among other sites. You will also see the shrine of Pelops, the Council house where the athletes took the Olympic oath, the Treasury houses, the Gymnasium, and the Palestrae where they used to exercise for a month prior to the Games. Finally, you will reach the stadium, where the marble starting blocks are still in position.
Visit the Archeological Museum, only a short walk from the Olympia site itself. There you will find a collection of Greek sculpture, as well as treasures that have been unearthed over a century of excavations. The museum is also home to the famous “Hermes of Praxiteles” statue as well as the statue of the winged Nike.
After all that you can have a short break in the modern town of Olympia, for coffee or shopping
A short walk along a country road will bring you into Klio’s farmhouse, a garden filled with fruit trees and vegetables where you will discover the “unknown Olympia”.
Finish the tour to the vineyards of Olympia Land, to learn the different varieties as well as the cultivation of those. The facilities of the winery are surrounded by beautiful roses, vineyards, and olive trees. The family will welcome you and walk you through the vineyards, the production area, and the cellar with the oak barrels. Release your senses and enjoy the wines, olive oil, olives, and other delicacies in the winery.
