On our Bamberg "Free Walking Tour" we present the UNESCO World Heritage Old Town with a colorful mixture of history, culture and anecdotes.
Welcome to Bamberg. We meet at the "Centurione" statue and then walk together through the UNESCO World Heritage Old Town. The aim is to give you a good all-round view. We will visit the architectural highlights such as Little Venice, the old town hall, the Romanesque cathedral, the old residence and much more. In addition to the wonderful scenery, we would also like to introduce you to the cultural life in Bamberg. This is far more varied than "just" being the beer capital of Franconia, although we will of course also talk about that. Fishermen, basketball players and students characterize the image of the city just as much as the good Franconian brewers. Of course, we will also talk about Bamberg's history. First mentioned in a document in 907 as "Castrum Babenberch", the city developed into one of the most important cities in Franconia under the bishops from 1007 onwards. Baroque splendor stands in contrast to the criminal persecution of "witches".
After the end of the guided tour, we will be available for further questions, tips and "thinks to do" in and around Bamberg. We look forward to your visit.
