The varied tour through the old town of Essllingen starts at the station. Lovely half-timbered houses and narrow alleys are waiting to be discovered.
Your path leads you past the Schelztor tower, with an impressive work of art at a great height, directly to the banks of the Neckar. On the peninsula in the river you will learn about the history of the old carpenter's workshop before continuing on to the St. Dionys town church and the old town hall, one of the most photographed sights in Esslingen. There is something to discover everywhere in the alleys and on the half-timbered houses. But you will also learn the stories and anecdotes about them. The tour continues to the Einhorn House, the Onion Fountain and the Wolf Gate, before you enjoy the Maille Park and get to know the "Little Venice" of Esslingen. The tour ends back at the station.
Along the way there are always small cafés and shops that invite you to linger and shop.
Small riddles challenge you again and again and make the Esslingen walk a varied experience.
