Discover the beautiful medieval castle of Ananuri, Look out over the scenic Aragvi River valley, and enjoy alpine views from Gudauri on this full-day tour from Tbilisi.
Tour stats at 9 am, move to northern highway generally takes more time than usual because of the road is curvy and takes more time to cover, Total time to reach Kazbegi village takes 3 hours(with stops), and until Gudauri 2 hours.
The first stop is Jinvali Reservoir which supplies Tbilisi with drinking water, and also there are operating turbines for electrical power Generators. Great place to take some lovely photos on the background of the reservoir.
Ananuri castle, it is since 17 century standing as a complex with defensive towers, a Cathedral, and fortification buildings. Exploring all places takes about 30 minutes.
After some time of observing the white and black Aragvi river, during summer it is easy to distinguish the colors of the water, one is darker than another, and that is why it is called White and Black.
