Discover your family history with a professional genealogist in Toulouse. Learn how to research your French ancestors online and fill out a family tree to take home with you.
We will meet in a café overlooking Toulouse to explore your family history for two hours.
I will show you how to begin your genealogical research online using digitized archives. Together, we will look at the different kinds of information you can hope to find about your French ancestors (more than you might expect!), and the resources available to genealogists.
As we go along, you will fill out a family tree on an A3-sized sheet, which you can take home with you.
You can also come with a more specific topic (such as research on a particular ancestor), and I will try to address it using online archives. I will provide you with further research paths so that you can continue your research independently, whether online or in physical archive services.
After the session, I will email you the original documents found together.
We will meet in a café nestled on the top floor of a department store (the café is accessible by elevator). The background music is light enough to allow us to work properly.

I work with French archives, so I will only look for French ancestry. If you do not have any, but are still interested, we can work on a case study.
I will have my laptop with me, but feel free to bring yours if you can, so we can conduct research simultaneously.
For those who have not yet started their genealogy: to begin under the best conditions, I invite you to gather the names, first names, birth, and death dates of your grandparents and great-grandparents. If you would like to focus the research on a specific person, let me know.
