Discover the typical food and the history of the region by visiting local markets and various other places. The cities you visit are entirely up to you, with each one offering different things depending on the day of the week.
To choose cities and villages that you want to discover, your itinerary for the day will depend on the market days where you will shop for your picnic food. On Monday it is the Cavaillon, on Tuesday the Aix-en-Provence, on Wednesday the Saint-Remy de Provence and Arles, on Thursday the Villeneuve-Les-Avignon, on Friday the Lourmarin, and on Saturday and Sunday the Pernes-les-Fontaines and the L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgues respectively.
Throughout your day you can choose to play a game called pétanque, which is the most popular pastime in Provence. You can also choose to discover ancient monuments, hilltop villages and lavender fields, or take a seaside drive.
