Leipzig is a city of musical well-being, with Johann Sebastian Bach having worked there for decades as a composer, cantor, and director of the Thomanerchor. The Gewandhaus Orchestra is one of the best in its field, and it is there that Kapellmeister Felix Mendelsohn Bartholdy founded one of the most renowned music academies in Europe.
Throughout your day tour, visit some of the musical instrument manufacturers or collectors around Carlsfeld, Klingenthal, and Markneukirchen. Bandonions are still being produced in Carlsfeld today, which give the Tango Argentino its unmistakable sound.
Klingenthal delivers harmonicas and accordions all over the world, and in Markneukirchen you can find string and wind instrument manufacturers. Depending on the daily situation and availability, you can expect to visit 1 or 2 craftsmen.
