Experience the untouched and less crowded part of the Simatai Great Wall of China located in the north of Miyun County, 130 km away from northeast part of Beijing.
Your Beijing tour guide will pick you up from your hotel lobby at 07:00, reaching Simatai Great Wall at around 09:00. The Simatai part of the Great Wall is located at Gubeikou town, in the north east of Miyun county in Beijing, 120 kilometers from the downtown area of Beijing. The construction started in the early Ming Dynasty. Simatai Great Wall is around 5.5 kilometers long, with 34 Beacon Towers. This section of the Great Wall incorporated the different characteristics of each section of the Great Wall.
In the valley, the Simatai Great Wall was divided into two parts by the Simatai Reservoir, in which a chain bridge runs from east to west. The Simatai Great Wall has wonderful watch towers snaking around the mountain ridges. On the gently sloping hills, 20 watch towers are well-reserved.
After three hours of hiking, you will have several cups of tea at a tea house, and take a break before coming back to your hotel at around 17:00.
