Explore 2 very different villages on the greatest fresh water lake in Southeast Asia, the Tonle Sap, then chill out on the famous Queen Tara and enjoy your meals and drinks.
Exploring the Great lake and two very different villages whilst crossing the greatest fresh water lake in Southeast Asia, the Tonle Sap. The first village is a true floating village whereas the second village is home mainly to stilted homes and the famous flooded forest. This cruise tour also includes the full crossing of the Tonle Sap Lake so you will be able to explore more than just the different villages.

You will depart from your hotel just before 10:00 am and head to the first floating village, sights that are worth a quick stop along the way are the lotus flower farms, a flower that is deeply important in Buddhism (please note: depending on the time of year the views of the lotus and rice fields will vary). Once you are at the port area one of the boats (Princess Tara or Lady Tara) will be waiting to take you on a pleasant cruise into the floating villages, our boats have a special designed flat bottomed haul, making it not only a more comfortable cruise, but a far safer cruise, we will cruise along the rivers and canals (sometimes quite narrow), with many twists and turns as the first of the floating villages homes appear, as we continue the cruise more and more homes,businesses,markets,schools,churches,police stations and even a local floating villages jail will appear, floating basketball courts,floating vegetable gardens,everything floats,am amazing sight with over six thousand folks calling this home, further along. the rivers will suddenly open up to the greatest fresh water lake/river system in all of se asia, its huge,as far as the eye can see and much further, also home to over 1000 different species of fish and 120 different species of water birds,some standing over 6 ft tall, an amazing place and designated a biosphere reserve by UNESCO in 1997,due to its high biodiversity
Docking with the mothership the queen tara riverboat and have a yummy lunch selections of cambodian, asian or western type foods all part of the tour, and drinks ( open bar) on board the Queen Tara. please note all meals and drinks are free as part of the tour. and then head back onto the long tail traditional boats (all our boats have toilets for your comfort) for the lake crossing and into the 2nd village of Kompong Phluk. Depending on the time of year and the current water levels you will either row through or walk through the flooded forest, walk along the main street of Kompong Phluk and visit the local pergola and the monks training school. be amazed by the stilted homes towering over 10 meters high, we take in boat the floating villages here and the stilted homes, heading further east along the Kompong Phluk river and pass many more villages and fish markets (Kompong Phluk is mainly a fishing village). Once you exit the river arrive to the Mini Tara Vans for a comfortable air conditioned trip back into town and back to your hotel.
