The Salar de Uyuni or “salares” is one of the highest deserts in the world, surrounded by mountains and volcanoes that reach 5000 meters above sea level. Your tour will begin at 10:30 am from the meeting point. The first stop will be the 'train cemetery' of Uyuni, to see the first locomotives in Bolivia. Then you will visit the small settlement of Colchani (salt miners' workshops next to the salt flats). Here you will see crafts made from salt and textile art made from llama and alpaca fiber. The tour will continue towards the great Salar de Uyuni, which is located at an altitude of 3650 m. Take photos as you cruise across the vast white expanse of salt, see Los Ojos de Agua Salada ('eyes of salt water'), and then visit a hotel made entirely of salt! This incredible place currently serves as a museum.
