From Puno: Discover La Paz and Tiwanaku | Full-Day

In detail:
La Paz, Bolivia's Andean jewel, captivates with its impressive altitude and unique blend of tradition and modernity. Explore its vibrant streets, enjoy its rich culture and admire the towering peaks of the Andes that surround this unique city.

Itinerary:
We will start very early in the morning, picking you up at your hotel around 4:00 am. From here, we will start our journey to the border between Peru and Bolivia in Desaguadero, to enter Bolivia and head to La Paz.

After approx. 4 hours, we will arrive at our destination and take a guided tour of the colonial quarter, 16 de Julio Avenue and Mariscal Gamarra Avenue. We will continue with a visit to the historic center, where we will see the Neoclassical Cathedral of Our Lady of Peace next to Murillo Square.

We will have time for lunch on our own and after a short break, we will visit the Santo Domingo Convent and the Witches Market.

In "La Paz", we will take the bus to the archaeological site of Tiwanaku, where one of the most important pre-Columbian cultures of Bolivia flourished. We will take a tour visiting and discovering the secrets of the temple of Kalasasaya, the Akapana pyramid and the Sun Gate. We will also have the opportunity to admire the queros or ceremonial vessels and the walls decorated with figures of human faces called huaco-portraits.

At the end of the tour, you will have an overview of the cultural and patrimonial richness of Bolivia. With all that we have seen during the day and the great emotions experienced, we will return to Peru and arrive in Puno between 14:00 and 15:00.
