After being picked up from your hotel in Puno, head south to cross the border with Bolivia and arrive in Copacabana. Before heading to the Island of the Sun, visit the Sanctuary of Copacabana.
Board a catamaran at the port of Copacabana and sail across the waters of Lake Titicaca to the legendary Island of the Sun. Enjoy a snack on board as you cruise. Disembark in Yumani, at the southern end of the Island of the Sun, and explore the area considered to be the birthplace of the gods responsible for the origin of the Inca Empire.
Discover the Inca ruins, including an impressive terrace system known as the Inca Garden. Walk along the famous Inca Staircase to reach the Sacred Fountain, where underground water currents converge, considered by locals to be the "fountain of youth" due to its supposed healing properties.
Next, visit the impressive Inti Wata Complex, the main private tourist attraction in Bolivia, which can only be accessed by those who have visited the Island of the Sun by catamaran. Here, find the underground Ekako Museum, Traditional Medicine Centers, and Totora Raft Construction, a craft center, the Intica refuge, an Inca agriculture botanical garden, and a variety of Andean camelids.
After discovering the secrets and legends of the Inca civilization, return to the port of Yumani to board the catamaran that will take you back to Copacabana. Enjoy a delicious lunch on board. Once in Copacabana, return to your hotel in Puno, arriving 11 hours later.
If you choose the option with a final stop in La Paz, take a bus from Copacabana to La Paz, ending the tour at around 7 PM.
