The Zambezi is the fourth largest river in Africa and is home to a wide variety of wildlife, not to mention millions of people. Wildlife abounds on the lower Zambezi, and canoeing is a highlight. The Zambezi may not be as diverse as some parks, but there are plenty of opportunities to get up close and personal with wildlife: herds of elephants, herds of lions, herds of lone leopards and herds of wild dogs.
The Lower Zambezi is home to large herds of elephants and buffalo along the banks of the river, while wildebeest migrate to the northern part of South Luangwa.
