Georgia
Visiting Kazbegi is one of the most amazing things to do in Georgia. The rock monastery in Vardzia is one of the favourite places for Georgians to visit. The rock monastery of Vardzia, the ancient capital of Georgia, is only a twenty-minute drive from the current capital, Tbilisi.
Georgia's third major rock monastery is the most accessible of Georgia's popular rock monasteries, and as a result, there are many walkers. Tourists tend to enjoy a trip to the Vardzia rock monastery and immediately visit the Gergeti Trinity Church, famous for being the base of Mount Kazbegi, the famous mountain that most tourists come to. Notable sights of David Gareji include the Bobde Monastery, located near the old town of Tbilisi, and the eighth century Kvelatsminda Church.
The Gergeti Trinity Church is an excellent example of medieval temple architecture and one of the must-see places in Georgia, but the main reason to visit Kazbegi is the stunning panorama of the Caucasus Mountains, including the famous Mount Kazbek. Built in the sixth century on a hill above Tbilisi, the Jvari Monastery is a must-see in Georgia (country). When you visit Mtskheta, you should also see Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (built in 1010 on the site of the first Georgian church), Samtavros Monastery (where, according to legend, Saint Nino lived) or Bebris Tsikhe Ruins of the fortress. Large crowds come to see the beautiful heights and magnificent frescoes of the great Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, one of the best examples of medieval Georgian religious architecture and a revered place of pilgrimage for Georgians from all over the country, or the Jvari Monastery one Overlooking the hill above Mtskheta - a wonderful mix of conch architecture, Hellenistic, Byzantine, and Georgian styles hidden between its apses.
Signagi is also a famous town in the Tusheti region and a popular attraction in Georgia. Signagi is undoubtedly one of the best places to visit in the Caucasus country. Besides beautiful cities, remote villages with medieval defensive towers and ancient cave cities, Georgia has a variety of breath-taking canyons that can be taken on a day trip from nearby Kutaisi or Tbilisi.
Georgia has so many beautiful places to visit and things to do and see in Georgia; you can wander around Georgia for weeks. Georgia may be further out than the state, but it is well worth the trip. Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, is one of the most charming and fascinating cities you will visit. Mtskheta, one of the oldest cities in Georgia and the capital of the ancient kingdom for almost a thousand years, is only 20 km from Tbilisi and is a popular destination for day trips.
Pankisi Valley, located in Kakheti, north of Telavi, between the wine-producing region and the mountains of Kakheti, is a completely unique place to visit in Georgia. The walled city of Sighnaghi is far from the only place where grapes grow (an expat will talk about some alternative wine regions later), but it is by far the most popular wine tasting place in Georgia, especially since it is so close to Tbilisi. This is a must see when you arrive in Georgia, if only because of the panorama of Tbilisi and the Kura River, which meanders through the old city of Tbilisi.
