There are many tours and excursions in Accra.

The city of Accra has a complex history and beautiful culture, and both impact what you should do in Accra, Ghana. It might be a bit of a culture shock to some, but exploring Accra, and Ghana as a whole, was one of my favourite experiences in travel recently. Whether you are visiting to learn more about West African culture, or experience Accra’s stunning city food, there is plenty to do.

It is Ghana’s largest and oldest African Art Museum, which is also a clever way to take a little extra time and get to know more about the city as well as Ghana. There is also a smaller museum just outside of the memorial, where you can learn more about W.E.B. DuBois and his influence on the country. You are now able to visit what was once his house in Accra since it has been turned into a museum and memorial for him.

Located just across from Accra’s Capital City Sports stadium is an attractive memorial with four distinctive Black stars topped by a textured design. The monument is a part of Independence Square, also a venue where the Ghanaian Independence Day is celebrated every 6th of March. Several monuments stand at Independence Square, which is the world’s second largest urban square, and a neighbouring Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum honours the political leader who led Ghana to independence.

Take in panoramic views at Skybar Bar, restaurant, contemporary, wine, beer, cocktails, pub food and cocktails. On the summit of the iconic Village, its red-and-green towers towering above the city, sits Skybar Bar.

Where shimmering skyscrapers rise above ancient colonial fortresses, and outdoor shopping centres share the street with trendy restaurants and lounges, you can find an excellent mix of things to do in this emerging metropolis while exploring one of the region’s most dynamic cities. From the Kaneshie market to the national cultural centre, explore the vibrant markets that fill the capital.
