Cu Chi Tunnels & Mekong 1 Day Tour - A Perfect Combination

This tour is specially designed for those who have a free day in Saigon and want to experience two of the most popular destinations near the city, the Cu Chi tunnels and the Mekong Delta.
7:30am, Today’s tour starts with a pick up from the hotel in the city center. Leave the buzz of Ho Chi Minh City behind and drive approximately 1.5 hours through the countryside for the tour to Cu Chi Tunnels.

9:00 am, arrive in Cu Chi Tunnels (Ben Dinh) spending a couple of hours walking around Cu Chi’s rugged ground with our tour guide. Hear how and why the residents constructed an intricate, underground network of tunnels during the country’s recent wars. See other ingenious items used by the residents to defend themselves such as bamboo traps and camouflaged pits. Also on display are various mantras and the remains of an American tank as well as numerous bomb craters made by 500 pound bombs dropped by B52 bombers.

At the end, crawl underground (optional) and have a look at the tiny chambers, imaging what life was like for those who lived there. Tapioca will be served as a snack when you finish the tour.

11:00 am, have lunch in the city with specialties before heading to Mekong Delta.
1:00pm, upon arrival, embark a made of timber motor boat (30 minutes) to Unicorn Island. Passing through unpolished creeks, enchanting fisherman's ports, stilt houses (half on land, half on water).

Pay a visit to a bee farm where you have a chance to taste a charming cup of unsophisticated honey tea.

Listen to the melodies of "Don Ca Tai Tu," a traditional folk music genre that is essential to the spiritual and cultural lives of the Mekong Delta and has been formally recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. While enjoying some fresh tropical fruits and the tea. Then step into a coconut candy workshop to learn local people made dozens of coconut candies and other products from coconut milk. Taste some yummy candies for an experience.

Walk around the peaceful village and discover the life of rustic people in Mekong Delta (30m).

Get on small rowing boats (try feeling a row boat by yourself). With around 15 – 20 minutes, you’ll see all types of interesting transportation modes that local people use to move around, while enjoying the fresh air along the canal and wonderful water coconut tree landscape. Stay away from the city that is it all about!

4:00pm, disembark the motorized boat to get back to Saigon.
18:00pm, arrive in Saigon. Finish Cu Chi Tunnels and Mekong Delta Tour 1 Day, we will drop you off at your hotel.
