Hanoi: 2-Day Ha Long and Vietnamese Farming Tour

A unique 2-day tour bringing you many experiences of regional Vietnam. You will join farm activities, stay with a local family, and even discover the magical Ha Long Bay on this agricultural tour.
Day 1: Hanoi-Viet Farm Home Stay

After being collected at 7:30AM, your bus will drive you to Ngoc Hoa Village. En route you will pass fields of busy workers farming their rice fields using traditional methods of cultivation. Upon arrival at Ngoc Hoa Village at 10:00AM, you can enjoy a cup of tea with a local family, as well as a short rest. After your break, you will begin to bike around the country lanes to see some old traditional houses while enjoying the peaceful lifestyle of the local people. This is a great way to interact and explore the rural Vietnamese architecture and traditional culture.
At midday, you will have lunch at your home stay, after which you will don some traditional farmer's clothing and begin some farming work. You will plough and rake with a buffalo on the rice field, cultivating rice while the farmer explains the farming process of the wet rice. Later on, the bus will take you to see the Khuc Thua Du Temple, where rule of the country fell when the Tang Dynasty collapsed. This is one of the oldest temples in the north of Vietnam.
After this temple tour, you will have time to enjoy a sampan-boat trip around Stork Island located in the Chi Lang Nam commune. The island is located in the middle of a broad lake with tens of thousands of stork and herons residing and nesting. Here you will be able to witness 20,000 storks, more than 7,000 heron of various kinds of precious birds such as pelicans and teal residing together. At around 5:30PM you will enjoy a cooking class, after which you will dine on your hard culinary work. You can then relax in the evening, join a ”Soil Firecracker” (Phao Dat) or volunteer to teach an English class before your overnight at a home stay.

Day 2: Viet Farm Home Stay – Ha Long Bay – Ha Noi

You will begin your second day with breakfast at your Viet farm home stay. Afterwards, you will begin biking to see the Ngoc Hoa market. This is great way to experience a market where local people bring whatever they have planted, made or raised to sell publicly. You can then have a short rest before checking out of your home stay, after which you will board your bus for departure to Ha Long Bay.


You will arrive at Ha Long Bay around noon, at which point you will board a boat on which you will have lunch whilst taking in the beauty of the bay. You will pass Dog Islet, Incense Burner Islet and Fighting Cock Islet, before stopping to explore the Heavenly Palace Grotto. This grotto is located on a remote island complete with fantastic stalactites and stalagmites, as well as colored lights which transform the scene into a fairy tale palace. After this, you will then keep going to see a local fishing village, enjoy a fishing farm and go kayaking and swimming. At 4:30PM, your boat will take you to the harbor from where you will ride your bus back to Ha Noi.
